eggs

Put all your eggs in the one basket and—WATCH THAT BASKET.

Mark Twain, Pudd’nhead Wilson (1894)

Note: This sentence, with its punctuation and capitalization, is taken from Mark Twain. However, it should be noted that Andrew Carnegie said the very same thing in a speech in 1885: “Put all your eggs in one basket, and then watch that basket.”
